WELCOME TO THE CHURCH OF RAGE NEWSLETTER!

This is the first CHURCH OF RAGE newsletter that I am sending out to the TRIPLE BLACK HEART GANG and I want to thank you all for joining / subscribing. Considering how much information and entertainment is available on the internet, I don’t take it lightly that you’ve decided to subscribe here and I’ll do my best to make sure these newsletters are of value and not just spam to you. 

WHY E-MAIL NEWSLETTER?

As an artist, I want to spend most of my time learning, researching and creating art, in order to create the most incredible pieces possible - be that writing, music, fashion, visuals, live shows etc. Those familiar with me and my journey as an artist and human so far, are very well aware of how much time I dedicate to everything I touch. Especially over the lockdown period I doubled down on that effort, took the off social media and therefore I am fucking thrilled about everything I got coming for you this and next year. 2 new EPs, 2 short films, podcasts specials only for members of the TBHG, more CHURCH OF RAGE events, a new tour, merch and fashion pieces and much more!

But in order to bring this to you, I don’t want to have to rely on algorithms and compete with everything else that is happening across social media all the time. More importantly, I have become aware that some of you have left social media (which I fully understand and I do too periodically) but still want to be up to date with what moves the Triple Black Heart Gang & me and when we meet up again and so on. Thus, I want to have a direct communication channel with you, free of noise and the other troubles of social media, where you can decide when you want to peek into the TBHG HIVE-MIND (will be explained) and be updated about my creation - and hopefully it’ll inspire you!

I GOT A PROBLEM, YEAH I KNOW 

I have only released 2 songs so far this year: 1. INTO THE LIGHT and 2. HOT GIRL SUMMER. I spent the rest of the year creating music, visuals and infrastructure, therefore, finally releasing „Problem, Yeah I know“ is even more special to me. I wrote the song in the outskirts of Marrakesh, Morocco, in November 2019.

I had rented a mansion in the desert on the outskirts of Marrakesh and I flew in musical friends from all over the world, two of them were Timmy and Bene, who make up the producer duo Truva (Bury Me alive, Moon, Just Watch Me & more). We set up studios in different rooms of the house and on one of these magical days of the 5 week long stay, the song „Problem, Yeah I know“ was made. 

What I fully understood 2 years later, during the pandemic lockdown, already started to dwell on me here: „I was filled with anger and shame once I realised what was going on in my relationships. Once these emotions settled, I wrote “Problem, Yeah I know”. In this piece I wrote down the world view I was operating under at the time.

When I questioned a common pattern I noticed across my relationships, I understood that I justified staying in my comfort zone within toxic set ups via “I will just turn the other cheek and endure this mess and heal them as I am strong enough for both / all of us, my opposite will learn through me” & “I am the man, I made it out the mud and imma take you with me” - rather than setting boundaries.

Sacrificing my peace and energy rather than cutting the toxic people off - because I myself was toxic (towards me).

So this song is my personal reminder that true love is rooted in self love and that I as a man have grown and found true (self) love.“

This Friday, 18. November, „Problem, Yeah I know“ will finally be released, after I’ve performed it countless times on stage and I couldn’t be happier about it.
